Chakra Meditation for Beginners: Benefits for Mind, Body, and Energy
May 25, 2026Chakras are essentially pools or centers of energy. They are usually invisible to the physical eye—though some people can see them—and they circulate, pulsate, and surround the body. Each chakra is connected to an energetic body that overlays and extends beyond your physical form.
We are so much more than we realize. Most of us think of ourselves as a physical body with a mind and a soul, but we rarely acknowledge or tend to all the layers of who we are. Beyond what we can see, we also have a subtle energy system comprising chakras and an aura.
We have a physical body, and surrounding it is an etheric body. Connected to that etheric body is a corresponding chakra. When we learn to balance and support this subtle energy system—through meditation, conscious intention, and breath—we invite health, ease, and comfort into the physical body, as well as mental clarity and emotional release. This work can bring you back home to yourself.
We all have these energetic pools—our chakras—and when they’re out of balance, we feel it. If this is brand new to you, I offer much more detailed instruction in my meditation programs, where we go deeper into how the chakras function and influence your physical form. For now, we’re simply touching on the basics and exploring how they relate to your everyday experience.
As we move through life, our experiences leave an imprint on our chakras. Over time, the healthy flow of energy can become blocked. Through chakra meditations, we clear the blocks that allow the vibrant life force energy to flow through your system. By balancing the chakras, we can support the release of trauma from our system and begin to restore the natural flow of life force energy.
We don’t just experience events—we also carry them in our chakras. The suffering often comes from the way we hold on to what we’ve been through. We grip our painful memories consciously and unconsciously: in our thoughts, our emotions, our bodies, and our subtle energy fields.
The traumas we face can block our chakras. So can our beliefs about ourselves, the environments we live in, and the experiences we’ve accumulated over a lifetime. When we take time to clear and harmonize our energy systems, we can feel a profound sense of release and freedom from what we’ve been unknowingly carrying.
One of the most powerful ways to do this is through meditation—using breathwork to soften the body, inviting ease into all layers of your energy field, and gently bringing attention to each chakra. This kind of practice supports healing, health, and overall well-being. When your chakras are functioning and flowing, you simply feel better: more aligned to your purpose, more grounded, and more at peace.
When I work with people, I often hear things like, “I didn’t realize how bad I felt,” or “I never connected that ache in my shoulder, knee, or joints to a restriction in my energy.” Whether this is familiar territory for you or a brand-new concept—and whether you fully believe in it yet or not—it doesn’t hurt to set aside time for meditation and explore clearing what you may not be able to see.

I believe that as technology and our understanding evolve, we’ll eventually develop ways to clearly perceive what’s happening in the energy fields around us, just as we can now see inside cells and organs. When we can truly observe what’s occurring in the body's energetic layers, it will transform the way we care for ourselves.
We’ll be able to prevent more illness by clearing disruptions before they reach the physical body. We’ll be able to support healing by releasing congested energy even after illness has appeared. By freeing these blockages, we allow healthy life force energy to move freely again and restore balance to the entire system.
There is so much depth to this work, and I am genuinely passionate about it. It’s one of my favorite areas of practice because I’ve witnessed profound release and transformation in both my clients and myself by working across all these different levels.
When we tend to ourselves mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, and energetically, we finally give ourselves permission to set down what we’ve been carrying for far too long.
My intention is to offer you a doorway into the joy and freedom that become possible when you do this work.
Keep going. Don’t tap out. There is so much more available for you—and so much more to you. My hope is to help you remember who you truly are, beyond name and form, and to invite that power, grace, and beauty into your physical life so you can live fully from your true nature.
I look forward to meditating with you,
